Do you think Music is related to culture?
Um... considering that we classify certain musics based on cultures, yeah, I'd say so. I think when you start calling it Irish music or spanish music or asian music then you're in to culture. Seems pretty straightforward.
I understand
I agree with Cody.
Music is certainly culture!
Music is an expression of human feelings and emotions. And our emotions are related to our background such as climate, people's faith, behaviours, human relationships etc etc! So of course it is culture because our way of living is culture and music is an expression of our way of living!
Music always represents the people and the background were they live when they created it.
Chopin's music couldn't be more polish than it really is. He spent all his life remembering and representing Poland on his music! Listen his Mazurkas is like an audio picture of Poland!
Other examples are Grieg who is so norweegen on his music, Albeniz who made pictures of Spain in Iberia, Janacek, totally czech culture, Scriabin so russian etc etc.
So yes when you put on music what you feel, this is part of your culture and part of the culture of the country where you live!
Jorge, I can't agree with you more.
Each composer embodies himself and his life and place of living into his music.
Wow, Jeorge! that's so very true :)
